“Ambient Source” is track 26 of 39 in I Hear The Sun, DJ Food’s 84-minute promotional mix for Inferno, Boards of Canada’s fifth album. DJ Food made the mix at the request of the band and Warp, and it was released as an Apple Music “Early Hours” mix on the day the album came out. The mix follows the album’s themes of devotion, life, death and rebirth, celestial imagery and possible alien contact. “Ambient Source” sits between Paul Cousins’ “Blueprint” and Patrick Carpenter’s “Arrival”, in a selection that also includes Jon Hopkins, The Advisory Circle, Jane Weaver and several Boards of Canada tracks.
