We were honoured to be included on both the CD and Vinyl versions of this compilation.

Press

In its review of Überzone’s Y4K mix (Resident Advisor, Karl Palma, 3 June 2004), RA notes that the CD finishes with “Cakewhole”, which gives the mix a deeper, more laid-back ending. In the review’s words, it provides “a deeper and more laidback mood to close the CD”.

Original compilation

Überzone Presents Y4K, Distinct’ive Breaks, 2004. Released as a mixed CD and as a double 12″ vinyl (catalogue Y4K008LP, August 2004). “Cakewhole” is the last track on both: the closing track of the CD mix and side D, track 2 of the vinyl.

  • A1 Uberzone & Rennie Pilgrem: Fuego
  • A2 Etostone: Little Ladies
  • B1 Meat Katie meets Christian J: Turn Me Out
  • B2 Paul Reset: Wake Up (AMB Remix)
  • C1 Andy Page: Mr Rush
  • C2 Fine Cut Bodies: Trekk Far (Elite Force Remix)
  • D1 Etostone: Get Free
  • D2 Ferocious Mullet: Cakewhole

Trivia: the vinyl version sounds much better than the CD, because an MP3 was sent to production by mistake.

In DJ mixes

  • Neural Tech, Bonzai Digital Mixing: a nu-skool progressive breakbeat mix built in Ableton Live 3.04 in 2007 and shared on DNB Forum on 18 May 2018. “Cakewhole” is track 8 of 11, alongside Bedrock, Burufunk, Dan F and Kraymon.
